Dee Dee Ricks
Founder & Managing Partner
Ms. Ricks founded Ricks Consulting Group, Inc. (now RBG Talent) which advises hedge funds and family offices on strategy expansion, human capital acquisition and talent development. She launched the firm in 1994 with her first client being one of today’s most successful hedge funds, D.E. Shaw. She has counseled leading multi-strategy firms during their growth and expansion phase into new asset classes and strategies by helping clients understand their strategic and competitive positioning in the market place. Her proprietary research process has identified new investment opportunities for leading alternative firms to capitalize on synergies within their existing business structures.
Ms. Ricks has closed hundreds of complex deals with the founders of multi-billion dollar, multi-strategy funds. Her proven track record of onboarding top talent to launch successful strategies has allowed her to align her revenue with her clients. Building on her extensive experience, Ms. Ricks created the proprietary POPM model (Portfolio of Portfolio Managers), which enabled her to be the first to bear “netting risk” on innovative deal structures.
Ms. Ricks was one of four finalists in the Ernst & Young’s National Young Entrepreneur of Year Award in 1998 for her groundbreaking recruiter training venture, Internet Research Services, her second company that she ran alongside Ricks Consulting Group from 1996 to 1999.
In addition to her pioneering work in alternatives, Ms. Ricks is a recognized advocate for access to healthcare. Since her diagnosis with breast cancer and the debut of her HBO documentary, The Education of Dee Dee Ricks, she has given over 100 keynote addresses to Fortune 500 companies, foundations, financial service conferences and non-profit organizations in the US and abroad. Ms. Ricks is a sought after inspirational speaker on access to quality healthcare, patient navigation, alternatives and entrepreneurship. She understands the social injustices underserved individuals face in healthcare treatment as well as in their day-to-day activities. In addition to her commitment to access to healthcare and equality, she wanted to take on an issue that would impact her sons whom are avid hockey players. After all, charity begins at home. She is the Founder of The NextGEN AAA Foundation, a 501(c)3, that aims to shape and educate promising top-level youth hockey players, facilitating their path to higher education.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Health and Human Performance (HHP) at the University of Florida in 1991 and was inducted into the University of Florida’s HHP Hall of Fame in 2016.
Robyn is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of RBG Talent. For the last decade she has worked alongside Dee Dee Ricks at Ricks Consulting Group helping our clients build and expand strategies via talent acquisition within the alternatives space.
Prior to RBG Talent / Ricks Consulting Group, Robyn spent 10+ years on the buyside as an investor within both the hedge fund and private equity industries. She began her career in private equity as an Analyst at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners but early on recognized her true passion for the stock market and soon transitioned to the hedge fund industry. While on the buyside, Ms. Browdy had the opportunity to invest within both single manager and multi manager structures, giving her a unique understanding of the skill set that is required to be successful in the hedge fund industry.
Robyn graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology where she earned a BS from The Wharton School with concentrations in Finance and Management, as well as a BAS in Systems Engineering from The School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Beverley Caen is a motivational and performance-driven Executive Leadership Coach whose
three decades of professional experience empowers her to truly understand and inspire her
clients. She coaches at all levels, from CEO’s and executive leadership teams to high
potentials, business owners and entrepreneurs. Beverley uses her unique perspective and
impactful coaching style to enhance leadership development, communication skills,
performance & productivity and team integration.
Beverley has recently launched her own talent development company, TCG Coaching, (a
division of RBG Talent) after spending 6 years at Conductive Coaching as a Global Senior
Executive Coach. Prior to that she ran an Executive Search firm in the Financial Services
industry for over a decade following 11 years working in Institutional Equity Sales. She
covered clients nationally, including both top-tier Hedge Funds and large Asset Managers,
for Citigroup, UBS and AllianceBernstein.
With a successful career in Finance and her Talent Acquisition business, Beverley has a
thorough understanding of a wide spectrum of careers, which gives her the expertise to
grow talent and coach effectively in many areas across all industries.
Beverley is certified by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), New York
University and is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF-PCC). She is also a
certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner (NLP). Her assessments include both the
full Hogan Suite and the Leadership Versatility Index 360 (LVI).
Beverley holds an MBA in Finance from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University
and an undergraduate degree in Finance and International Business from Florida State
University. She lives in Scarsdale, NY with her 3 children.
